From the Missouri Ozarks, Lyal Strickland sows the seeds of dreams and reaps a hearty dose of reality with songs about small town life, big city adventure, and the road in between. Lyal underscores his Rootsy, Americana Folk with honesty and passion to spare.
Lyal writes songs with a sensitivity and emotional confidence that comes from deep within. A farmer with a film degree, Lyal raises grass fed beef when he’s not racking up miles on his guitar. His heritage grass fed beef comes from a line of cattle that came to the farm four generations and over 90 years ago. This mix of the Ozarks hills and interstate highways fuels Lyal’s drive to sing about the work he knows and the land he loves.
In ‘So Many Incidents’, Lyal’s first album to step away from his customary solo singer-songwriter niche, he drew upon a wealth of long respected Ozarks talent. His fifth and most ambitious project to date, ‘So Many Incidents’ was produced by Larry Lee, founding member of the legendary Ozark Mountain Daredevils and was recorded on the banks of the Finley River in Southwest Missouri.
‘So Many Incidents’ let’s each song live it’s own life, for fortune or folly. Individually, each song lives within itself, while collectively providing glimpses into one long relationship with love, lust and lament residing in every line.
